Hello, and thank you for visiting our website!
My name is Mary Cooper and I am the LFFL Cheerleading Commissioner. I will retire my post June 30, 2015. Trish Muse, LFFL board member, cheer coach, football parent and avid Penn Stater will assume the position of LFFL Cheerleading Commissioner. She, myself and the Vice-Commissioner, Dymond Cooper have been actively working together in preparation for the 2015 season.
The #1 goal of this cheer program has been to help our children have fun, progress their skills and motivate them to continue with the sport for many years. Besides sharing my love for all things cheerleading, I have personally worked hard to maintain a bridge between our program and the nearby high schools. We want to expose each athlete to a variety of experiences, as well as provide volunteer and mentoring opportunities for the HS cheerleaders.
There is no off-season for all of the hard-working LFFL volunteers behind the scenes. 2015 introduces a new Football Commissioner, Kim "KT" Thompson, Assistant Commissioner, Brandon Miller and a host of new and veteran board members ready to continue shaping and influencing the lives of the youth in our Huntington, Rose Hill, Kingstowne and Hayfield communities.
Check back here soon for Trish's bio and updates on the 2015 cheer coaches.
Dymond brings to our program many years of cheerleading experience, beginning with rec-league. She happens to be a Fairfax County Cheerleader of the Year (2008) and Fairfax County Cheerleader Hall of Fame Scholarship recipient (2012). While at Edison High School, she was a Varsity cheerleader and participated in Edison gymnastics. Simultaneously, she did all-star competitive cheerleading during all four years of high school. Now a Christopher Newport University cheerleader, Dymond has cheered on both the sideline team and the competition team, having helped them achieve two 1st place wins, and 2nd place at Nationals her freshman year, while also competing with Fame Allstars. Besides cheerleading, Dymond is a Business major, serves on the CNU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, works part-time, and still makes time to have a social life!
Although away at school in the fall, Dymond directs the summer activities, and coaches SENIORS throughout the month of August and during visits home. Additionally, she creates all of the choreography, helps revamp cheers, and plans half-time routines . She tracks inventory, advises on apparel, and has hands-on involvement during a few football games, as well as Performance Day.
Dymond has first-hand knowledge on the joys and adventure that cheerleading brings. The countless hours spent on the sidelines, competition mat, and the gym only fuel her passion for the sport! There is no doubt she works hard to positively influence and hopefully inspire your cheerleader.
Once again, LFFL Cheer is extremely lucky to have talented, fun-loving coaches volunteering this year!!!!
